Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium is used for:

Supplementing the diet in patients who have or are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes. It should be used along with other treatments for type 2 diabetes. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.


Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium is a folic acid, vitamin, omega-3 fatty acid, and mineral combination. It works by lowering blood sugar by making the cells of the body more sensitive to the action of insulin. It also provides vitamins and other supplements to meet nutritional requirements.


Do NOT use Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium if:


  • you are allergic to any ingredient in Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium or to fish or fish oil

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.



Before using Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium:


Some medical conditions may interact with Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:


  • if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding

  • if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement

  • if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances

  • if you take large doses of vitamins (megadoses or multivitamin therapy)

  • if you have certain types of anemia (eg, megaloblastic anemia, pernicious anemia) or bleeding problems

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:


  • Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin) because they may increase the risk of bleeding

  • Carbamazepine or phenobarbital because they may decrease Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium's effectiveness

  • Hydantoins (eg, phenytoin) because their effectiveness may be decreased by Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium

Ask your health care provider if Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.


How to use Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium:


Use Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.


  • If you take antacids, check with your doctor or pharmacist about how you should take them with Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium.

  • Take Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium on a regular schedule to get the most benefit from it. Taking Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium at the same time each day will help you remember to take it.

  • If you miss a dose of Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Important safety information:


  • Do NOT take more than the recommended dose or use for longer than prescribed without checking with your doctor.

  • Do not take large doses of vitamins (megadoses or megavitamin therapy) while taking Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium unless directed by your doctor.

  • Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium has many vitamins and supplements (chromium, biotin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, folic acid, omega-3 fatty acids) in it. Before you start any new medicine, check the label to see if it has the same vitamins in it too. If it does or if you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

  • Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium should not be used in CHILDREN younger than 12 years old; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.

  • PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium while you are pregnant. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.


Possible side effects of Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium:


All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. No COMMON side effects have been reported with this product. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:



Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue).

Store Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Folic Acid/Vitamin B6/Vitamin B12/Omega-3 Fatty Acids/Biotin/Chromium out of the reach of children and away from pets.
